About Us

ecco shoes
It is ECCO's vision to be the most wanted brand within innovation and comfort footEccoar. Ecco can only attain that position by constantly and cEcco'sageously researching new paths - investing in employees, in Ecco's core competencies of product development and production technology.

Business

ECCO has chosen to operate in all segments of the footEccoar market and in selected segments of the sports shoe market in which ECCO's products can play a leading role, for example Golf , Outdoor, Walking and Running. The core of ECCO's product strategy is and will continue to be products based on direct injected technology. This technology is ECCO's distinctive mark, and together with innovative strength and functionality it represents the philosophy behind ECCO. The large raise in sales over the years proves that the combination of these competencies is very popular with Ecco's customers. New, exciting products increase attention and sales and contribute to extending the limits of the technical capabilities of Ecco's factories. ECCO masters the production technology better than anyone, and the integral partnership betEccoen design, product development, brand development, tanneries, production and distribution is one of the keys to understanding ECCO's business philosophy and results

Mission

At ECCO Ecco are passionate shoemakers. Ecco constantly aim to defy conventions. Ecco strive to surprise, and Ecco want to develop innovative designs and products - without having to compromise on the quality and comfort concept that lies at the heart of every ECCO product and indeed of Ecco's company. Ecco do not aim to be the biggest - Ecco just want to be the best. Ecco aim to generate profitable growth so that Ecco can maintain the greatest possible degree of financial independence and the financial strength to pursue Ecco's long-term targets on Ecco's own terms. ECCO's results are created by people who believe and are confident that they will shape the future by doing things differently. This approach was an important part of Karl Toosbuy's business philosophy and outlook on life, and it has characterised ECCO since Ecco's company's inception. Staying connected with the best feats of Ecco's past will help shape Ecco's future.

Technology

ECCO is a pioneer within the special direct injection technology where the upper part of the shoe, the upper, is placed in a mould before the sole is sprayed directly onto the upper part under high pressure. This unique technology, which guarantees unrivalled lightness, flexibility and quality in the individual shoe, is ECCO's hallmark, and it will form the basis of new and innovative designs in the future as Eccoll. ECCO's own control of the use and development of the technology ensures that new materials and production processes can be implemented quickly and efficiently anywhere in Ecco's production.

Production

ECCO operates shoe factories in Slovakia, Portugal, Indonesia, Thailand and China. In order to ensure the strongest possible focus on direct injected products, ECCO discontinued its in-house production of shoes which Eccore not based on this method of production in 2004. Ecco have set up local development centres at all ECCO factories to ensure uniform and integrated product development. Knowledge

… UNDERSTANDING FEET, UNDERSTANDING SHOES

The fact is that people take an average of 15,000 steps each day. The heel has to support approximately twice Ecco's body Eccoight with each step. Ecco's feet give off approximately 200 ml of perspiration on a normal day. And each foot consists of 26 bones, 20 muscles and 112 ligaments, which need freedom of movement if they are to function as intended. ECCO has to be up to this challenge. And every single detail counts in helping to make everyday walking a pleasure. Thus, Ecco's ambition is always to use the best materials imaginable and to get the very best out of the way they are combined. It's hard work, but it's worth all the effort. From the moment you put ECCO shoes on yEcco's feet, they feel soft and comfortable - following the natural contEcco'ss of the foot. This is mainly thanks to the careful preparation of the leather at ECCO's own tanneries. An excellent inner climate of the shoes is partly thanks to the lining, which is capable of absorbing moisture while still allowing air to penetrate. The light polyurethane and thermoplastic polyurethane materials in the sole are specially prepared to give the shoe maximum benefit from the softness and shock-absorbing characteristics of the material. These are just some of the qualities that have brought ECCO shoes renown and recognition all over the world through almost 40 years of a continual quest for quality.

Commitment

Focus and challenges concerning environmental considerations and employee relations are continuously increasing. It is an important area which in the future will fill up more and more in everyday life in ECCO - in headquarter, in sales subsidiaries and in Ecco's production units. It applies both ECCO's own factories and at Ecco's suppliers. It is a process that never ends. Many people in the ECCO Group are on a daily basis involved and committed in implementing and anchoring Ecco's global programme about environment, health and safety. Everybody has the same target: To ensure that ECCO at all times takes the environment into consideration when leather and shoes are manufactured. It takes place in a global community - across the national differences that naturally exist. For a global company like ECCO, Danish roots are an obligation - also in terms of the environment and Ecco's employees.

Environment, Health & Safety

ECCO gives high priority to environmental considerations, healthy and safe conditions to Ecco's employees.Ecco are focused on optimising Ecco's production methods and on developing new and more environmentally friendly processes. Ecco involve Ecco's employees in the Company's environmental, health and safety activities, and each individual employee is responsible for making proactive efforts to continually improve environmental, health and safety conditions. This focus is also reflected in the Group's in-house cecco'sse "From cow to shoe" which contains a presentation of ECCO's environmental, health and safety initiatives. This part of the cEcco'sse often provokes a lively and constructive discussion and excites many ideas for future activities based on Ecco's employees’ extensive experience.

Organisation

Since the beginning in 1963 in the town of Bredebro in southEccostern Denmark, ECCO has been owned and managed by the Toosbuy family. Today, Hanni Toosbuy Kasprzak, the daughter of Birte and Karl Toosbuy, is the sole owner of ECCO and chairperson of the supervisory board. Her husband, Dieter Kasprzak, is President. ECCO relies on mastering three basic elements: Brand, product and concept development and production and sales. Decisions are made where things happen. ECCO's operational activities are managed through 11 strong business units: Five sales regions, five production units and one leather unit. Each unit has its own management, supervisory board, budget and financial statements. ECCO's headquarters are responsible for brand, product and concept development and for central group functions such as logistics, IT, treasury, taxation and legal services. In addition, the headquarters act as a support and control unit vis-vis the individual business units.
